Services: Logo + Homepage design and development (via the Developer Day package)
Shannon from Pass Me Some Tasty was eager for a logo and homepage refresh for her blog. She was using a pre-made theme and wanted to upgrade from just showing the latest posts on the homepage to showcasing posts from specific categories and reader favorites, along with good-looking subscribe, search, and bio sections.
Her original logo had been created years earlier and it didn’t quite reflect her edgier, more modern style.
I proposed a classic black and white option in a serif font for the modern style, and off-center and off-set with some outlines for the edgier feel. This is what I presented to her:

Shannon really liked it from the start, she just requested some arrows to invoke the feeling of passing a dish down a table.

After:

And here is her homepage before and after:
We chatted before hand about what her popular categories were and what calls-to-action were most important for the growth of her blog. After a couple rounds of tweaks, here is where we ended up:
Before, classic blog layout with sidebar:

After, modern layout with categories and CTAs:

Shannon and her blog are wonderful and it was such a fun project.
