How to add meta tags or tracking codes to your blog

At some point, you will receive a meta tag or tracking code that you will need to add to your blog. If your site is built on the Genesis framework, as all the ones I build are, adding that code is super-easy.

In your dashboard, just hover over “Appearance” then click “Customize.”  In there, scroll down to “Theme settings” then click on “Header/Footer Scripts.”

There will be two boxes in there, one for header scripts and one for footer scripts.  Unless your code comes with specific instructions to put it in the header or head (which many do), then paste it into the footer box.

Once your code is there, just click the blue “Publish” button towards the top left and you’re good to go!
